  1. Hello,

My name is Ken Carlos. I and my wife Diane own Sweepstakes Advantage.
By word of mouth we found out about your sweepstakes book and recently
read it. We were happy to see the references to SA in the book.

Do you live in central Florida?

    Regards,

    Ken

Hi Ken, The blog has been on the back burner, but just got back to it. I’m now over on PenelopeSilvers.com

I used to live in CF, but am now over on the Naturecoast. Thanks for the visiting and reading my book. I won some amazing prizes from using your site. Sweep on! 🙂

  2. We’ve known each other for some time now and I believe we’re a kind of penpals. I keep scoop’ing your articles because I believe they can help beginning and expérienced authors. In january 2014, I published a trilogy in French «Les enquêtes de Karen Newman, agent du FBI» which I believe would do very well in the States if it were translated in English. But that’s only my opinion. I would like to have yours. But, I’m pretty sure you don’t read French. My question is, would you know someone in the industry that could read French and give me an honest opinion ? I don’t want to engage funds into translating my books if I’m going to hit a wall when submitting them to agents and éditors. Thanks and have a very good day. 😉

Hi Jacques, My French penpal, even though about the only French I know is Merci! 😉 Thanks so much for scooping my articles. I scoop the ones that help me, so I know they will help others.

I personally don’t know of anyone in the industry who reads French, but in doing a search, this agency works with foreign publishers, so I would send them a query and see what they suggest.

Maybe they can steer you in the right direction. There might be some others pop up through another search of:

      international literary agents

If you do decide to translate, I would go to a site like Upwork or Elance and post your job out there, and see if you get any responses. I do believe it could be worth your while to get it translated for sales to the U.S. From the sound of your story, my personal opinion is that it would do very well! People here in the U.S. love crime stories, and especially femme fatales in the FBI.

This link shows you how to translate a PDF from French to English by uploading to Google Drive here:

      https://ebooks.stackexchange.com/questions/356/how-can-i-translate-my-ebook

It will translate, but the quality could be questionable. I also did a quick search and came up with this link for Upwork translators:

I am so excited for you! So wonderful to hear you are writing and publishing. I wish you best, always. Penelope
